hemp + mycelium for the win!
By embracing the many uses of the hemp plant, we use the end result of the hemp fiber process. A woody material known as hemp hurd is usually used as animal bedding, but we elevate this carbon laden treasure for long term storage (sequestration) in heirloom quality furniture and durable, structural and non-structural building materials.
More on the mycelium component of zerø-frm
Absorbed the same amount of CO2 that the average American emits in 7 days of daily commuting
This whole journey started
with the quest to make the first truly mycelium based composite chair…one that you could actually sit in :)
attention to detail
so much care and concern for small things that make a big difference

Years of testing…
Years of exploring…
Years of research…
We ended up developing a whole new class of building material
EQUAL PARTS:
It only takes 5 days for the mycelium to fully colonize the entire chair frame, adhering parts with a fungal glue that industry just can’t mimic. The result is a composite material that has a matrix that grows from within each of the hemp particles.
Incorporating a spiral of inner-reinforcing textile, as well as, a manifold textile outer fascia gives zerø-frm uniquely durable qualities among other mycelium based composite formulations.
A truly paradigm shifting advent
